'Who in the world would be stupid enough to believe that?' Morning Joe torches Trump

‘Morning Joe’ host Joe Scarborough was furious at President Donald Trump trying to convince his followers that Democrats were the one pushing for the release of an alleged “client list’ of convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and pressing the controversy surrounding his suicide.
Trump recently claimed in a phone interview with right-wing commentator John F. Solomon that Democrats were the ones pressing his administration to release the Epstein files to the public.
“[The FBI should] look at this Jeffrey Epstein hoax, because that’s all the same stuff, all put out by Democrats,” said Trump. “And some naïve Republicans just fall right into line They just don’t have the sustainability … the Democrats they have bad policy and candidates, but they stick together.”

“It’s not being pushed by the left-wing radical Marxist, whatever media,” countered Scarborough. “It's not being pushed by Democrats. I saw Bill O'Reilly having a debate, talking about this all began when Merrick Garland arrested Epstein, and he kept being corrected. No, no, this happened in 2019 — the arrest and Jeffrey Epstein's death. All of that happened in 2019, when Donald Trump was president of the United States.”
Scarborough argued also that it was not Democrats crusading for years to release Epstein’s case to the public and demanding to see his client list. It was people like right wing commentator Charlie Kirk and “people in the president's own administration,” including FBI director and deputy directors Kash Patel and Dan Bongino.
“The president yesterday saying it was the Democrats — no … it was the Democrats who have been attacked by Republicans, and the media has been attacked by Republicans, for years, for not pushing this more,” Scarborough said. “… I don't know who in the world would be stupid enough to believe that this was some Democratic hoax that Democrats have been pushing when it's been pushed by the MAGA base. This has been almost a foundational belief of MAGA, that that there's this global child (trafficking) ring, and Jeffrey Epstein was at the center of it.”
“So, everything he said about this being a Democratic hoax, it's just not true,” Scarborough said.
