George Conway reveals the 'one remedy' left to stop Trump's 'lawlessness and illegality'

In the wake of multiple Supreme Court decisions in which the 6-3 conservative supermajority expanded President Donald Trump's executive powers, and the Republican-controlled Congress' refusal to hold the administration accountable, anti-Trump conservative attorney George Conway argued that there's just one solution remaining that could stop Trump's executive overreaches.
Conway told MSNBC's "The Weeknight" that Trump's consolidation of power has resulted in typical checks and balances — like the legislative branch and the federal judiciary — being rendered meaningless and ineffective during Trump's second term. To underscore his point, he reminded viewers that Congress has so far not done anything to stop Trump from personally profiting off of his office, and that the Supreme Court has so far continued to enable his continued defiance of federal judges' orders.
"Donald Trump is me, me, me, me and my. Those are his pronouns. And everything is mine, mine, mine, mine, mine. And that's always been the case," Conway said. "He took those classified documents. Everything belongs to him. He always talked about his generals. Everything belongs to him. And that's what's going on here: Every power belongs to him."

Conway stressed that courts are unable to enforce their own orders by themselves, and rely on the Department of Justice to hold anyone accountable who defies the judiciary. However, he argued that because Trump has turned the DOJ into a partisan entity, the power of the federal bench has been significantly stymied.
"The courts have been standing up overall pretty well against Donald Trump," he continued. "The real problem is not the courts. They're there to stand up against lawlessness and illegality, but at the end of the day ... there is only really. one remedy for what Donald Trump is doing ... the framers created one mechanism: Impeachment and removal."
The anti-Trump conservative lawyer lamented that while impeachment and removal would solve the problem of Trump's unconstitutional actions, it would require a Congress that isn't — in Conway's words — "feckless [and] shameful."
"They will not do their job," Conway said. "I don't understand! You go to Congress, you, go over to Capitol Hill, it's like, what are these jobs worth? The loss of dignity? The denial of your refusal to obey your oath of loyalty to the Constitutional laws of the United States?"
