Fox News is now airing a new ad promoting President Donald Trump. The ad, set to the song "Love Me," is airing during Jesse Watters' show, and it includes a disclaimer: "paid for by the U.S. government." The ad is getting plenty of reactions on X, formerly Twitter — and some of them downright scathing.
CBS News' Jim DeFade tweeted, "So I was just watching Fox News and this commercial played during Jesse Watters show. It says 'Paid for by the US Government.' This is clearly a campaign ad. And the singers are just singing over and over again, 'Love me' — over images of Trump."
Musician Scott Howe commented, " Holy s——! That's so mental. He's jumping his own shark daily!"
HuffPost's Yashar Ali posted, "The White House is currently airing this video as an ad during commercial breaks on Fox News. It looks and sounds like a political spot and includes a disclaimer stating that it is paid for by the U.S. government. The soundtrack: as images of Trump flash across the screen, singer [JMSN] can be heard repeating, 'Love me, love me,' over and over. The video combines Trump's anti-communist message with rapid cuts of Trump, American flags, and military aircraft, alongside claims about tax cuts, manufacturing, and policing."
Ali added, "It ends with the UFC's Dana White saying: 'He is the toughest, most resilient person that I've ever met, and nothing was going to stop him from fighting so hard for the country he loves.'"
KrassenCast's Ed Krassenstein argued, "Our tax dollars are now paying for Pro-Trump TV ads. This is illegal, but it doesn't matter anymore because Trump is untouchable. The only way to stop this is to vote out Republicans in November."
Publicist Vlada Foltan commented, "This evidently pre-election clip ran on FOX, but it's paid for out of taxpayers' pockets. Trump's regime has everything royally f——[.] The law? No interest. And that sung underscore 'love me' accompanying the shots of Donald Trump is a total riot too."
Occupy Democrats' Grant Stern tweeted, "Dear Leader is using YOUR tax dollars to make this insane propaganda with a musical track that says 'Love Me' on repeat."
Author Brendan Noble tweeted, "Why is the U.S. Government paying for cult-level media like this? 'Love me' over images of Trump feels like some weird psychological play. Regardless, it's propaganda with our tax dollars."
