12 New Stomach-Turning Revelations About Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin has had a lot of ups and downs in her time in the national spotlight. When she was first nominated, the Alaska governor exceeded expectations by successfully reading from a teleprompter at the Republican National Convention. Then, she sat down with CBS's Katie Couric to disastrous results -- disastrous, hilarious or downright frightening, given your point of view. Any way you look at it, Palin's awful interview with Couric set the bar so low that her embarrassing performance at the vice presidential debate, where she refused to answer the questions and flirtatiously winked at the camera, was deemed a success by many commentators in the corporate media. At least she didn't vomit on stage, seemed to be the general consensus.

Since the debate, though, Sarah Palin has dropped to new lows. She has maliciously gone after Barack Obama, using hate speech, dog whistles and every inexcusable attack in the book.

But no matter how ridiculous or sensational Palin's attacks on Obama are, her venomous words cannot hide all the skeletons that keep pouring out of her unvetted closet. And these are the things that should give the American public cause for concern.

1. Palin's Fearmongering Attacks on Obama

Palin's attacks on Barack Obama over the past week have been sickening. She has questioned his patriotism and manufactured a bogus association to terrorism. Her hateful rhetoric goes far beyond dirty politics.

Palin is a "demagogue in a skirt," says Susie Hoeller of the Huffington Post.

"Webster's Dictionary defines a demagogue as 'a leader who obtains power by means of impassioned appeals to the emotions and prejudices of the populace,'" Hoeller writes. "Governor Palin, in her stump speeches this week, fits this dictionary definition."

The McCain-Palin campaign has said that it does not condone the use of Obama's full name, but given that almost everyone who introduces either McCain or Palin at their official rallies is doing just that, many are wondering if it may be an order straight from the campaign.

Jeffrey Feldman goes even further, asking of Palin's recent hate speech, "Is Palin Trying to Incite Violence Against Obama?":

Palin's new rhetorical strategy signifies an alarming new development in the 2008 presidential election, and one that has been not only been documented by such high-profile newspapers as the Washington Post, but confirmed by the McCain campaign itself.

"It's a dangerous road, but we have no choice," a top McCain strategist recently admitted to the Daily News. "If we keep talking about the economic crisis, we're going to lose."

2. Palin Lied About Darfur

During the vice presidential debates, Palin claimed to have helped spearhead a measure protesting genocide in Darfur:

When I and others in the Legislature found out we had some millions of dollars in Sudan ... we called for divestment through legislation of those dollars to make sure we weren't doing anything that would be seen as condoning the activities there in Darfur.

That's a noble stand to take. Too bad Palin wasn't the one who took it. Palin's administration publicly opposed the bipartisan effort to divest Alaskan holdings from Sudan. According to the Washington Post:

During a committee hearing in February, a Palin administration representative, deputy revenue commissioner Brian Andrews, testified against the legislation on the grounds that it would do nothing to help "the afflicted in Sudan," and would add to the fund's administrative costs.

Palin officially changed her position in April. But by that time, the bill had died in committee.

3. Sarah Palin Hearts Dick Cheney

During one of her sit-downs with Katie Couric, Palin was asked to name the best and worst things that she thinks Dick Cheney has done as vice president:

Worst thing I guess that would have been the duck-hunting accident -- where you know, that was an accident. And I think that was made into a caricature of him. And that was kind of unfortunate.

Kind of unfortunate? He blew a friend's face off. But that is not the worst thing that Dick Cheney has done while in office, which is saying something. When shooting your friend in the face is low on your list of the worst things you've done, you know you're in trouble.

Sarah Palin - Worse Than We Thought

At first it looked like Palin was just a charming know-nothing from Way Up North. But she's turning into a downright little sadist right before our very eyes. And a lying little sadist at that.
For a response to Palin's tackiness, go to youtube.com and search for the equally tacky "palin music video eskit".

There's Something About Sarah

When John McCain nominated Sarah Palin to be his running mate, I immediately started to do research on her. the one (and only) thing that struck my eye was the date of her birth: February 11, 1964. I distinctly remember that day! I was five years old at the time. That was the day my beloved, maternal grandmother, Loretta Doran Clements, passed away in South Bend, Indiana. Other than that little, poignant fact, there was nothing in the Palin resume` that registered on the old gravitas meter. Nary a blip.

Then, as soon as she opened her mouth, I jumped for joy. "THIS ELECTION IS OVER, BABY!" Such a total, empty suit was she, I thought the electorate would never place her "a seventy-two year old heart beat away from the Oval Office. Then I checked myself....

J. Danforth Quayle!

Twenty years ago, Poppy Bush nominated a man who had all the substance of a department store mannequin - and yet the GOP won that election!

The Democrats have every reason to be cautious. Given the American people's absolute genius for doing the wrong thing in the voting booth, anything can happen between now and Election Day - and probably will.

An Alaskan comments about McPalin

Current rating: 5    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
I'm a 31-yr Fairbanksan who's been tortured living in this huge ignorant Red State the past 31 years. Didn't vote for her, but did like some of the cleaning house she'd attempted with the Corrupt Bastards Club, as they call themselves. She's becoming an embarrassment to Alaskans. Don't believe everything you read about in mainstream media, not all Alaskans like her. Those of us outside her tiny little town of Wasilla (7,000 pop), are finding a hell of alot more about her than we ever wanted too, and it's frightening. Course many are excited because they think it's puts Alaskan on the map, and they'll finally get to drill in ANWR. Remember Valdez? Drilling safe? What an oxymoron! Please, please, drilling in ANWR will not reduce our dependence on oil. It's all about unions and filling State coffers (I am not anti-union, been a member of two.). She'd be far safer back in AK than VP! She's definitely being groomed for Pres. In 2012, that's why most Repubs will vote for McPalin, not because of him, but her. And the moral, Christians, conservatives? What hypocrites. That's why I find so offensive about the Right, that I'm not moral or conservative fiscally or environmentally, or couldn't be Christian because I believe in life AND a women's right to choose? Like only Dems are the one's getting pregnant, having unprotected sex, (oops can't use birth control because god forbid you talk about sex at home), and having abortions? And forced marriage for your teenage daughter is the answer? It's embarrassing, and frightening seeing what McPalin is doing to incite hate-mongering towards Obama. Every American should be outraged. How is that any less than terroism, what she and McCain doing? Any credibility he had is completely gone. He's a desperate old man, using an ex-beauty queen to prop himself up. God help us, I hate to say it, but if Americans are STUPID enough to elect another Repub to the highest office in the world, at this critical juncture, we will be hit with far worse than 9/11. We are headed for a great Depression, unlike the previous. It is going to be difficult for those of us in "middle" America, and lower. There will come a revolt out of it. In the meantime, what the hell are we ALaskans going to do with Attila the Mom? She won't settle for Gov, now that she's had a taste of the limelight. Maybe she'll just slink back and go back to baking cookies and babies in Wasilla.

Call me paranoid, but Palin makes me think about the original "Manchurian Candidate" movie
Posted by: NoMcCainPalin on Oct 10, 2008 2:53 AM
Current rating: 4    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
In my updated version of the 1962 thriller, John McCain plays Sergeant Shaw (Laurence Harvey), supposedly a Korean War hero. In reality. he is a Communist sleeper agent whose brain was not only "washed," as one character in the film says, but "dry-cleaned."

Sarah Palin plays Shaw's mother, Eleanor Iselin (Angela Lansbury) who is the driving force behind a subversive scheme to take the White House and install a secret Communist regime.

In my movie, Palin represents rightwing GOP extremists -- i.e. neocons. While the original "Manchurian Candidate" film involved an assassination plot and several killings, no overt violence would be necessary in the real-life version with President McCain's advanced age leading to an early demise, such as a "stress-induced" heart attack.

On second thought, the 2009 "Manchurian Candidate" with Palin becoming president should be called a horror flick, not a thriller.

One more thing for NEW AlterNet visitors. If you're an undecided voter, learn the truth about Scary Sarah and her Manchurian Candidate running mate (including and his so-called "heroic" war record) by clicking on: Vote Against McCain (one of the HOTTEST anti-McCain sites on the Web)

I don't like one thing about this woman. I haven't since she came on the scene. She's scary, digusting, and goes against everything that is right and good. Electing these two would be a huge mistake.

I agree with the poster who said we'd be in for much worse than we've seen if "Laurel and Hardy" are elected!

I'll be so happy when this stupid election is over. :(

Irony is fun

Has anyone realized this:

The logic they use to paint Obama as a terrorist is this - working with someone with associations to terrorism makes you a terrorist. Therefore, they say, Obama lacks judgment, or is even a terrorist himself.

By that very same logic, the fact that McCain has worked with Obama for the past four years puts him in the same boat. In other words, they can't paint Obama as a terrorist using their logic without simultaneously painting McCain as one, as McCain, through working in the Senate with Obama, has done exactly the same thing they accuse Obama of doing.

I don't know, I just think that's amusing.

Mccain has to be the one to show that he is a dedicated candidate, not Palin. She's just a VP running mate although, sure, Mccain would likely give her the keys almost immediately after entering office just the way Sonia Gandi gave Mahoman Singh his seat in India despite her being elected. Still, if she were a man, she wouldn't be exposed this far. Now go back to bed because Obama will win and you all can keep dreaming "happy". CASE CLOSED !

PBS has an online poll posted asking if Sarah Palin is qualified.
Apparently the right wing knew about this in advance and is flooding the
voting with YES votes.

The poll will be reported on PBS and picked up by mainstream
media. It can influence undecided voters in swing states.

Please do two things -- takes 20 seconds.

1) Click on link and vote yourself.

Here's the link:

http://www.pbs.org/now/polls/poll-435.html

2) Then send this to every single Obama-Biden voter you
know, and urge

them to vote and pass it on. Note: Only one vote/computer
will be

counted.

The last thing we need i s PBS saying their viewers think
Sarah Palin

is qualified.

Attempting to Dull the Impact of new 'revelations'

Sarah has some Ideologies which are akin to some rather notorious Domestic Terrorists- McVey ( Hated US Govt Too), Charlie Manson (End Of Dayer, with Death Valley as the 'Refuge'), and of course the 'Pro Lifers' who thouhgt nothing of Bombing Planned Parenthood Clinics, assasinating MD and Blowing a Pipebomb Off in the middle of the Atlanta Olympics.Strike 3 Sarah , YOU ARE A BONAFIDE SOCIOPATH. Terrorist Doctrines spew out your mouth, and have been unearthed from your Recent History.
But Mac has taken a far more active Role in Undermining US- Financially (Keating to Gramm), Economically (High Oil Prices (Profits) causing Layoff's skyrocketing food prices...) and Internationally- '80's support of Bin Ladens "Afgahani Freedom Fighters" aka AQ! 'Leaking' Anthrax came from Iraq, 'Liberator' LIE, and continued demand to stay in Iraq even after we have 'Liberated them' and they are Telling US to Leave! So why are we hearing 'Traitor','Terrorist' at McCain/Palin Rallies- because they are Planted there so when the AX falls, Those Terms will have a lesser impact.
MCCAIN IS A TRAITOR, has a long histoy of association with Terrorist and those who have undermined this Country, With forethought and Malice-Bin Laden to Phil Gramm

Sister Sarah says, "And she is not my 'gay friend.' She is one of my best friends who happens to have made a choice that isn't a choice that I have made."

If it truly is a matter of choice for both Sarah and her friend, then both women must be bisexual.

More reasons why the McShame/Failin ticket should not be rewarded for their efforts! These tactics of appealing thru peoples fears are straight out of the Lee Atwater/Karl Rove book, they are despicable and dangerous! Since they cannot run on the issues, they should both just sit down and shut up!!!

These are extremely desperate attempts by two very unqualified individuals to get into the Oval Office! Their theory of divide (the body politic) and conquer appeals to those sheeple that want to be led around, and hopefully they will lead themselves and their sheeple off a cliff!

Palin is the EXACT image of some of the Republican soccer moms where I live (Nebraska), particularly in the upscale parts of West Omaha. The cheery, chirpy manner and frozen plastic smile are the same. So is the constant robot-like conservative party-line talking points that any conversation with them deteriorates into. Their husbands are shallow but mean-spirited types who are corporate VP's or business owners around here. Women who have a horror of sex and haven't had an orgasm in 15 years. However, they certainly came close when Palin visited Omaha here a week ago. I was watching it on the local (adoring) news coverage and some of these bitches were almost orgasmic in response to Palin's speech. It was unbelievable--the way they (and their hubbys) acted you would have thought it was Jesus' second coming.

The next thing we know, the phones, and Internet will 'shut down' and China, Russia, or Iran will be 'suspect.'

If Palin was a fully functioning human, she'd step out the fray, and go home to learn more about life, but it's hard to change those 'ways' once they're ingrained. Sad. A wolf in sheep's clothing?

Who really chose Palin?
Posted by: truthteller on Oct 10, 2008 8:27 AM
Current rating: 5    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
I've heard this on Air America, but really not many other places. Palin was chosen by the religious, neo-con group Council for National Policy, run by Weyrich, Land and Dobson, among others. McCain is a weak candidate and doesn't have the clout to totally be his own man (which is what a Maverick is to me), so they were able to dictate who his running mate would be in return for their much-needed support. It did wonders to turn around his flailing campaign. The tone changed overnight, and totally took the post-convention attention away from Obama-Biden. It turned what looked to be a rout into a real campaign.

I've been saying for a long time that I believe the f
