How This White House Operates [VIDEO]

Posted by Adam Howard at 12:21 PM on July 5, 2007.

How many times did the Bush White House say they were going to "get to the bottom" of the Plame Leak? The long road to Libby's escape from prison.

"If the person has violated law, the person will be taken care of." -George W. Bush

Sometimes you have to wonder if this White House just makes stuff up as it goes along or if everything they do is part of some grand design. And when I say grand I mean incredibly illegal and/or offensive to everything honest Americans stand for. From the very beginning of the Plame leak controversy, President Bush insisted that the Plame leak was a very serious crime and that he would want whoever was responsible to pay the price. All of this footage now, especially all pieced together as the folks at the Talking Points Memo have done in the video to your right, it all becomes so much more infuriating in light of Bush's complete reversal a few days ago.

"Taken care of" in the Guilani-Mafia sense of the 'taken care of'?

If I were Libby I would tread VERY carefully. Graveyards abound with people who have 'had an accident' since they got too close to government secrets, became whistleblowers, or were otherwise 'compromised'. Often criminals bail-out a person so they can 'whack him' on the street. Remember the government (whether under Clinton, Nixon, LBJ, or Bush) is, essentially, run like the Mob (La Costra Nostra). They select people to do dirty work and select people with known weaknesses (homosexuality, infidelity, greed, corruption, etc) so that they obey orders and remain in line. This goes for Congress also. You disobey the Party 'boss' and pretty soon you won't get that appointment, chairmanship, national funds, or, even worse, a scandal will come out about you. Something will be 'leaked' to their controlled reporters. Or a plane might crash. They keep records on everyone and use them to blackmail and control their operators, like the Mob or the CIA. The government is, basically, just a 'protection racket' given legitmacy by unsuspecting public.

The fact that the Bush administration will lie about, cheat at, and/or steal anything is old news. The only thing about this particular story is that it's getting some play in the mainstream media. With this kind of coverage during the upcoming Congressional investigations, there's a very good chance that we won't have to wait until '09 for the Bush/Cheney departure. Even diehard Righties are volunteering for the lynch party. It would be ironic if that dynamic duo got to spend 2.5 years or so in the Guantanamo Bay facility.

What's with Scott McClellen's wardrobe?

Are these repeated statements of "we want to get to the bottom of this" occurring on the same day or does Scott McMouthpiece own only one suit and one tie?

Doesn't he get paid to do his job? Buy some work clothes Scottie.

Weird......

We've been telling everyone for years now that it's everytime they flap their disgusting lips. And for the same peiod, we've been called hysterical Bush haters.

These people, ALL of them, are nothing but corrupt, despicable, lying thugs. It's long past time everyone finally wrap their meager brain cells around this fundamental truth.

Richard Armitage outed Valerie Plame and special prosecutor Fitzgerald knew this before Libby testified. Therefore Libby deserves a full pardon. Case closed.

obviously anyone who watched this noticed, but it defies all of my conceptions of the universe that someone could actually say "get to the bottom of this" so many times in one press briefing. what a hysterical tragedy of rhetoric.

Testimony of James Knodell

How come you haven't included the testimony of James Knodell (Director of White House Security) before Henry Waxman's
committee?
Knodell testified unequivocally that no internal or external WH investigation of the Plame leak was ever initiated.
See:http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL0703/S00288.htm.
The current video should have the clips of his testimony following those of MacClellan (whose clips are too drawn out anyway).
This will make perfectly clear that Scott was lying the whole time.

No Inconsistency Here

Bush has not said anything inconsistent here. He said that anyone found guilty in the leak case would be "taken care of", and Libby has been taken care of. I don't see any lie or inconsistency here.

Libby Convicted. Scooter Violates the Law; George W. Bush Takes Care of Him

Dear Adam Howard . . .

What fun this video is. It is interesting to me; a serious subject such as this, can be made amusing. The Bush Administration often provides humor. The profound, when reduced to repeat the propaganda, seems laudable. The use the Big Lie theory, “Say it often enough and they will believe it is true,” permeates this White House. It is the standard practice.

I too published this video along with my assessment. I believe George W. Bush did indeed take good care of all the responsible parties, himself included.

I invite you thoughts on, Libby Convicted. Scooter Violates the Law; George W. Bush Takes Care of Him

Libby Says Bush Authorized Leaks

[snip]
Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff has testified that President Bush authorized him to disclose the contents of a highly classified intelligence assessment to the media to defend the Bush administration's decision to go to war with Iraq, according to papers filed in federal court [PDF] on Wednesday by Patrick J. Fitzgerald, the special prosecutor in the CIA leak case.

I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby testified to a federal grand jury that he had received "approval from the President through the Vice President" to divulge portions of a National Intelligence Estimate regarding Saddam Hussein's purported efforts to develop nuclear weapons, according to the court papers. Libby was said to have testified that such presidential authorization to disclose classified information was "unique in his recollection," the court papers further said.
[/snip]

Bush Directed Cheney To Counter War Critic

[snip]
President Bush told the special prosecutor in the CIA leak case that he directed Vice President Dick Cheney to personally lead an effort to counter allegations made by former Ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV that his administration had misrepresented intelligence information to make the case to go to war with Iraq, according to people familiar with the president's interview.

Bush also told federal prosecutors during his June 24, 2004, interview in the Oval Office that he had directed Cheney, as part of that broader effort, to disclose highly classified intelligence information that would not only defend his administration but also discredit Wilson, the sources said.
[/snip]

Cheney's Handwritten Notes Implicate Bush in Plame Affair

[snip]
During cross-examination Tuesday morning, David Addington was asked specific questions about Cheney's notes and the reference to President Bush. Addington, former counsel to the vice president, was named Cheney's chief of staff - a position Libby had held before resigning.

"Can you make out what's crossed out, Mr. Addington?" Wells asked, according to a copy of the transcript of Tuesday's court proceedings.

"It says 'the guy' and then it says, 'this Pres.' and then that is scratched through," Addington said.

"OK," Wells said. "Let's start again. 'Not going to protect one staffer and sacrifice the guy ...' and then what's scratched through?" Wells asked Addington again, attempting to establish that Cheney had originally written that President Bush personally asked Libby to beat back Wilson's criticisms.

"T-h-i-s space P-r-e-s," Addington said, spelling out the words. "And then it's got a scratch-through."

"So it looks like 'this Pres.?'" Wells asked again.

"Yes sir," Addington said.

Thus, Cheney's notes would have read "not going to protect one staffer and sacrifice the guy this Pres. asked to stick his head in the meat grinder because of the incompetence of others." The words "this Pres." were crossed out and replaced with "that was," but are still clearly legible in the document.
