and our g.d. president.

Michael Moore should be given a Nobel Prize. And George and Dick should die a painful death-soon.

Healthcare, is not a partisan issue.

Health care (OR THE LACK OF IT, rather) is not a partisan issue. ANY political party in the majority could have, and should have, fixed this by now. What we have is big business in the pants of our politicians! Until we have financial reform for elections and limit the influence of lobbyists, the health care crisis, and many other problems we face, will continue to grow.

There's fodder in this movie even for free-market capitalist libertarians such as myself.

After all--4 health industry lobbyists for every member of congress? This is private health care? Nope. This is mercantilist health care.

When insurance companies get as bad as this, it's not because there's too little freedom of association, it's because there's not enough.

Michael Moore has a way of getting attention. One way to gauge how effective he is is to carefully watch, listen to, and analyze the the overheated rhetoric of politicans in the pocket of Big Med, Big Pharma, and Big Insurance. Moore's words and actions should be repeated over and over again if we're to catch up with the rest of the civilized world and FINALLY obtain what they've had for decades.

I like Michael Moore and I'm glad we've got him, but I'm a little wary of this film from the trailer for two reasons.

1) Did you notice the list of nations' quality health care? United States was just above Slovenia. Slovenia was just above Cuba. Um....go figure.

2) Moore points out that Guantanamo gets universal health care and we don't. Assuming Gitmo should stay open -- it shouldn't -- do you think these prisoners (or any prisoners) should be denied treatment? They are captives, and are powerless to provide for themselves food, shelter, and medical treatment when necessary. I doubt any free person without health care would want to trade places with them. It's not as if the prisoners are mooching off the dole -- waterboarding anyone?

Aside from these two gripes, I do look forward to the film's release.

Is any person worth $1.6 billion dollars?

That is approximately the amount in stock options given to Bill McGuire, CEO of United Health Care. Of course that is the value when they were still back dated. He will likely take home a little less since he was fired, is being investigated by the SEC, and is being sued by stock holders. They may be a little ticked off that the total for Executive stock options over a short period was close to $6 billion dollars. Again before the back dating investigations. But don't feel sorry for the stock holders, the stock has soared under their direction. Gee I wonder why health care is so expensive?
