In this clip, Robert Greenwald and prominent 'Netroots' activists do a post-mortem on the recent campaign to get Nevada Dems to hold their presidential debates on a legitimate news channel instead of on Fox. They used a model that mixes media, online and traditional grassroots activism. So far, it's shaping up to be a winner.

[Disclosure: Robert Greenwald sits on the board of directors of the Independent Media Institute, AlterNet's parent organization.]

Nice to know we don't have to be flotsam pushed before the mighty flood of political rhetoric and for that matter anything else the main stream media tries to hand us.

Is anyone compiling these stories?

Where would someone go to get a list of "progressive success stories" like this?

I think that one of the main obstacles that holds people back from getting involved in activism of any sort is the belief that it's a waste of time, that the people we oppose are too powerful and and can never be beaten, etc.

Get people over that false belief, with a set of powerful stories about successful citizen activism, and you'd see more people getting involved, leading to more successes, leading to even more people...

... is cancer to America. They are harming us in every way.

Of course they deny it. What else would they do?

The Dems are complicit too. They've been too friendly with the crooks on the other side of the aisle. Too much alike. Too much favor given to those with more than enough alreeady.

KUCINICH/GRAVEL in 08!

To my eye, they appear to be the last TRUE Americans running for office. Fire the spin-doctors and just speak to us! Anyone who sounds like spin IS spinning us.

Fox News could be a force for the good if they'd dump the fatheads they now have and get wits like Jon Stewart, Steve Colbert, and the like and present their material as a comedy show. They wouldn't have to change much as they're practically there now.

What is a "Legitimate" News Channel?

It's not clear to me what kind of victory this is. It seem to me the "liberal" alternatives are just as irresponsable as FOX, just more sophisticated (they are deceptive in the same way and have no intererst in the concerns of the public, as one would expect). Besides, there ain't a dime's worth of difference between the two parties. As a Nevada resident I am not in the least worried what channel the so called debate is on. I am worried, and a great deal so, how I am going to pay my bills this month.

The quote about Republicans being obsessed with Ronald Reagan being "Gay" is an interesting one. Help me understand the quote. This is meant as an insult, correct? There is something wrong with being gay? Progressives are ultrasensitive to "homophobia", "rascism", etc. The only exception seems to be when they throw around comments like "Your so gay." Haha. Hypocrites.
