A group of Katrina survivors is assembling to rebuke the president and demand federal aid, not photo ops.

If you're in New Orleans and you're interested in attending or covering the event, please click through to either of the foregoing links for full details. The event is scheduled for 2pm this afternoon.

I the Katrina survivors manage to deliver their rebuke to our Leader. The one thing he's good at is dodging protesters.

I'm not sure why they are complaining. Why does everyone

think that the federal government must take care of us all like children. If anything, the state and local government should handle this. If people continue to wish to live in floodplains and scientifically proven danger zones then they assume the liability for themselves. There is too much pork going to cities, states, companies, defence contractors, etc already. Reduce the spending, reduce the dependency culture, devolve power to the states and the people.

I wish the protesters 'good luck'. Protesters don't usually stand a chance with this administration. That would interrupt their 'bubble' image for all of their poor, pathetic followers that still believe in this mess we have in the WH. Don't worry, the 'decider' will be well protected and sheltered just as he has always been throughout his existence. Real people will not be allowed to be heard, you can be sure of that, and the MSM will not give them a voice, you can be sure of that as well. It's so sad and so unnecessary.

Watching video of Shrub making the rounds in New Orleans, I was struck by the absence of even one black face. Lots of hugging of white folks, lots of white folks following him around, but not a person of color in sight. Except of course, the face of Ray Nagin, when Shrub announced that he had done his part by signing the checks - "the folks" needed to know it was up to the mayor and the governor now to see they received their money. Well! Been there done that, nothing to see here, folks, so let's move along . . .
