On C-SPAN's Washington Journal, right-wing columnist Robert Novak discussed his television viewing habits (top video to the right). After saying that he doesn't watch the Chris Matthew's show, he attacked Jon Stewart:

“Somebody mentioned the Jon Stewart program, I’ve never seen that in my life and I will go to my grave never having seen it…. I don’t see any reason for it. It’s a comedian, self-righteous comedian taking on airs of grandeur and I really don’t need that.”

Why would Novak go after Jon Stewart?

Probably because Novak has been the target of many of Stewart's jokes. Here we take a look back at some of the Daily Show's Novak clips:

The second clip in this post features Stewart awarding Novak the "Congressional Medal of Douchebag."

The third video features a Daily Show segment on Novak's televised meltdown on CNN.

And the fourth video features Stewart's famous appearance on Crossfire. Novak was a regular on the show before it was cancelled. Many believe that this segment was the final nail in the show's coffin.

Check'em out and pass'em on.

... I had never even HEARD of Stewart's appearance on crossfire. That was amazing!

No wonder the show got canceled! They allowed Stewart to let the cat out of the bag... that the media is a big part of the problem and that neither party is truly doing much of anything to really help this nation.

Tucker isn't wearing his bow tie any more. Could Jon have anything to do with that? Hmmmmm...

I love how he calls J.S. a "self-righteous comedian taking on airs of grandeur..." That's funny!

Anyone who's seen more than 5 minutes of Stewart knows that he's the opposite: self-deprecating, modest, and unassuming. Stewart, in the face of endless priase lavished upon him by his fans and calls for him to run for political office, has remained so, quite contrary to Novak's idotic mischaracterization.

(NB: I have no connection with the linked petition -- just think it's funny.)

The Legendary Jon Stewart

I'd think Jon Stewart will be the ladle that stirs the always odious pot of politicians causing them to say vitriolic things such as Tucker Carlson who's only experience in life is filling his pants and throwing it at people like the rest of the pundits. It is laughable that all these supposed "news outlets" compare themselves to Stewart's show which is a spoof of them! They give him endless chances to make idiots of BOTH PARTIES. His skill (honed to a razor's edge an used with the proficiency of a surgeon) is legendary. Further, he always leaves them winding their asses and scratching their watches.
